GitLab is a web-based Git repository that provides free open and private repositories, issue-following capabilities, and wikis. Navigate to Apps and click GitLab. If you’d like, enter a new name for the connection.
You will have the option to restrict permissions on the ingested data to certain users or groups. If you don’t need to do this, skip this step.
Click Connect with GitLab!
If your GitLab instance is self-hosted, or you prefer to connect via API token, follow the instructions below:
In GitLab, navigate to User Settings —> Preferences —> Access Tokens and click Add new token.
Provide a Token name, remove the date from Expiration date (ie. the token should not expire) and select all checkboxes in Select scopes (or at a minimum, select api
or read_api
scopes).
Click Create personal access token. Write this down and keep it somewhere safe, you won’t be able to view it again (but you can always create a new one).
Navigate to Apps and click GitLab. If you’d like, enter a new name for the connection.

Toggle Cloud Installation off and provide the URL for your GitLab instance, followed by /api
Enter your API token and click Connect.
You may also need to confirm whether Violet needs to be whitelisted by your Gitlab server in order to connect. If that’s the case, use the NAT Gateway IP for your Violet instance below:
