Connecting GitLab in Violet

These instructions are for cloud-based GitLab. If your instance is self-hosted, head to this page instead.

  1. In Violet (or VioletGov), navigate to Apps and click to add a new integration.

  1. Select GitLab.

  2. Click Connect with GitLab and log in using your GitLab credentials.

    1. If you prefer to connect with an API token, follow the instructions here.

[Optional] You can also provide a unique name for the connection based on the credentials you're using, and you can create restricted permissions to users or groups:

  1. Once connected, you can configure which types of data to ingest, how frequently data should be refreshed, etc.

  2. Last, click Create to begin fetching data. You're done!
