Connecting GitLab in Violet

These instructions are for connecting cloud-based GitLab. If your instance is self-hosted, skip this section and head to this page.

  1. In Violet (or VioletGov), navigate to Apps and click to add a new integration.

  1. Select GitLab.

  • If you'd like, provide a unique name for the connection.

  • You can also set view or edit permissions for users or groups. If you don’t need to, you can skip this.

  1. Click Connect with GitLab and log in using your GitLab credentials.

    1. If you prefer to connect via token, follow the instructions here to generate one. Then click Show other authentication options, enter your token, and click Connect with API Token.

    2. Or, if your GitLab instance is self-hosted, skip this step and head to this page.

  2. Once connected, configure your integration (optional), then click Create. You're done!
