Octopart connects through a Nexar account.
Follow the instructions below to create a Nexar account and generate a Client ID and Client Secret.
If you don’t already have an account in Nexar, create one here. Activate your account and log in.
In your Nexar account, navigate to Applications and select Create app. Name it, and under the Scopes section, check the Supply box. Select the Terms and Conditions checkbox and click Create.
Once created, navigate to the Authorization tab in the app you just created. Scroll down to Credentials, and copy the Client ID and Client Secret. Write these down and save them for next steps.
Currently, Violet only supports individual part search. Enter a search term (eg. “battery”) to fetch a specific part. Check back soon for more advanced Octopart features.
